In triangular arrangement when the persons are facing towards centre  Right means Anti - clockwise Direction and Left means Clockwise Direction

Illustration: P, Q, R, S, T, U are sitting in triangular table facing centre.

  • T sits at corner. and only one person sits between Q and T, also R sits third to right of Q.
  • U sits in middle and is adjacent to P
  • S is second to left of R.
  • Question : - Who sits exactly between R and U ?

    A. Q        B. T         C. S        D.  P          E. None of these

    Answer: D

    Solution:

According to the first statement it is given that T sits at corner. and only one person sits between Q and T, also R sits third to right of Q.. There are two possibilities that either Q is sitting on the corner to the left of T or at a corner to the right of T. They are shown in Figure I and II

    Figure I

    Figure II

In the next statement it is given U sits in middle and is adjacent to P. So according to the figure I the possibility is shown in Figure III and according to Figure II the possibility is shown in Figure IV

    Figure III

    Figure IV

In the next statement it is given that S is second to left of R. But the position where S can placed is occupied in Figure IV so it is eliminated and Hence on placing S in figure III we get

Do according to the figure we see that P sits exactly between R and U. Hence the correct option is D.
